Tips for breast augmentation recovery

We hope you are happy with your breast augmentation surgery. You have been waiting a long time for this, and we are pleased to say that everything went well and was painless. The recovery process can now begin. To help with this, we would like to give you a few tips for breast augmentation recovery; keep reading!

First Days After Breast Augmentation

You will be taken to the recovery room when your breast augmentation procedure is complete. The anaesthetist will then initiate your awakening process. Nurses will monitor you closely and monitor all bodily functions when you wake up. It is important to note that you should not drive for at least the first few days after breast augmentation. As you are under general anaesthesia, you will not be able to drive safely.

After the procedure, there may be some tension in your breasts, and your chest area may be sensitive. It is perfectly normal for your breast implants to appear a little higher and your nipples a little deeper. Your breasts and nipples will gradually change, heal and take a natural shape. Also, if one of your breasts reacts differently than the other, you do not have to worry. This depends on the type and size of implants you prefer. The position of the implants also depends on the shape of your breasts and the characteristics of your skin.

Additionally, you may feel uncomfortable and emotional distress in the first few days following the procedure. You may also experience bloating or constipation, which are normal consequences of anaesthesia. You do not have to worry about that. We recommend wearing loose-fitting clothing and possibly putting a hot water bottle on your stomach to reduce this.

It’s best to take the correct amount of the medication prescribed by the surgeon at the indicated times. This will help prevent or reduce the feeling of discomfort. We also recommend staying calm for the first few days after the operation. Avoid cleaning the house or doing heavy work. Just rest, get sufficient sleep and watch entertaining programmes.

Please ensure that you are as comfortable as possible after the surgery. It is advisable to wear loose-fitting clothing that does not require pulling over the head. It may be more challenging for you to move your arms, chest and stomach for the first few days. Therefore, we recommend that you ask a friend or family member to stay with you and assist you for the first few days after surgery.

Sleep After Breast Augmentation

Sleeping may be a little uncomfortable for you at first. We recommend sleeping in a sitting position at a 45-degree angle for two weeks. This will help reduce swelling. In any case, do not lie on your stomach or side. It is best to place an extra pillow behind or under your back. This gives support and prevents you from taking your side. Sleeping upright also contributes to this process.

Exercise After Breast Augmentation

Please note that it is advisable to refrain from exercise for a period of six weeks following surgery. If you wish to engage in physical activity, we recommend walking. This also contributes to blood circulation. It is important to listen to your body when you resume exercise.
Please adhere to all instructions provided by your surgeons, assistants and anaesthetists. This will ensure the best and fastest results. Following the surgery, you and your doctor will discuss how to achieve the desired result in the shortest possible time. Naturally, you would like to see your desired result as soon as possible. Please be assured that you will be satisfied with the result in due time.
